California owns many years of my life. I was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming. We moved to California on my thirteenth birthday and I went kicking and screaming. Now I would say, in many respects, I grew up in California. After all, many first moments of my life happened there. I attended middle school, high school, and even college there. I met my husband and had all six of our children there. The church that changed my life is found in that glorious state. Needless to say, when I speak about California I am often moved to tears. My life changed when my parents dragged me into its southern regions.
One of the greatest aspects of this sunny side of the world is the culture.
Wyoming did not have the greatest diversity. Stepping into a classroom in Moreno Valley for the first time was a culture shock to me. I did not dress or even talk like anyone I came into contact with. There was such a diverse group of people. As I got older, being in this culture was an amazing experience. There is a genuine respect for the earth, for animals, for one another in a way that I don’t see much of anywhere else. The greatest part of this culture for me is the art, the music, the creativity that pours out all over the streets. The wineries and all that surrounds places like downtown Temecula, Riverside, and San Diego enrich your life immensely when you step out to experience it and become a part of it.
Let’s talk about one of the times I went to a great event that rocked my world.
In my late twenties and early thirties, I spent time in the wineries. I met friends on many weekend nights to watch live bands downtown and we attended events that included pairings, etc. One time, we went to a gathering at a local wine store to experience a night of Champagne & Cheese & Chocolate.
The Temecula Wine Company Hosts a Night of Champagne & Cheese & Chocolate
There were twelve champagnes…
Chocolates from around the world were paired with them…
As was cheese…
And the music tied it all together.
The entire night was amazing and memorable. Anything that was experienced through the taste buds could be purchased in the store side of the tasting room.
Anytime that you are in California, head on over to the Temecula Wine Company. A night of Champagne & Cheese & Chocolate could be in your future.
